Notifications

Alerts & notifications

Prakruti separates official warnings from informational notices from experimental research, and will not blur the three. This page is explicit about which of them it can actually deliver today.

Official warnings

Data unavailable
Data unavailableNot yet integrated

Prakruti does not currently ingest any official warning feed, so it has no warnings to show you. The database schema and the display surfaces exist, but no connector is wired to them, and an empty warnings panel on a disaster platform is dangerous unless it says plainly why it is empty.

This means: do not treat the absence of a warning here as the absence of a warning. Tsunami warnings, cyclone landfall warnings and evacuation orders come from your national authority and from the regional warning centres listed on the cyclone tracker. Prakruti is not a channel for any of them.

Candidate feeds for integration include national CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) feeds, NOAA's alert products, and GDACS. Each carries its own licensing and reliability questions that have to be settled before a warning is republished under Prakruti's name, because republishing a warning wrongly is worse than not republishing it at all.

Delivery channels

Data unavailable

Push, email and web notifications are not implemented. Notices appear on this page only. Building a delivery channel for disaster information means taking on responsibility for its reliability — a notification that fails to arrive is worse than one that was never promised — so it is not something to ship half-finished.

When delivery is built, it will follow the separation used throughout Prakruti: official warnings and informational notices on separate channels, and experimental research strictly opt-in and never delivered as an alert.

Experimental research notifications

Experimental research

EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH — NOT A VERIFIED EARTHQUAKE PREDICTION OR OFFICIAL WARNING.

Prakruti will never send an experimental earthquake analysis as an emergency alert. The research lab's output is not a prediction, is not validated for operational use, and dressing it in the language or colour of a warning would encourage exactly the decisions it cannot support. Research output stays on the research pages, in its own colour, behind its own label.
