The service
Prakruti is a proprietary disaster-monitoring and Earth intelligence platform developed by Madhusudan Kallur Purushothaman. It is made available free of charge to humans on Earth for disaster awareness, scientific exploration, and public safety.
Prakruti is provided free of charge and without warranty of any kind. It is a monitoring and research tool, not an emergency service.
Not for emergency decisions
Do not use Prakruti as the sole basis for any decision affecting safety, property or life. Data may be delayed, incomplete, revised by the issuing agency, or missing entirely because a source is unreachable. The absence of an event or warning on Prakruti is not evidence that none exists.
Official emergency warnings come from your national and regional authorities. Follow them.
Third-party data
Prakruti displays data produced by public agencies, each under its own licence and each credited on the data sources page. Those licences govern your reuse of the underlying data; Prakruti cannot grant rights it does not hold.
Prakruti is an independent platform. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or operated on behalf of USGS, NOAA, NASA, EMSC, GFZ, JMA, IMD or any other agency whose public data it displays.
Acceptable use
Please use the public API at a reasonable rate. Prakruti caches upstream data specifically so that agencies are not hit repeatedly on visitors' behalf; scraping it aggressively defeats that and risks the access those agencies extend in good faith.
Do not present Prakruti's experimental research output as a prediction, a forecast or a warning. It is none of those things, it is labelled as none of those things, and relabelling it would put people at risk.
