Privacy

Prakruti is a public information service. It is built not to need your data.

What is collected

No account is required to use any monitoring feature. There is no sign-up, no login and no user profile for public browsing.

No advertising or tracking scripts are loaded. Prakruti carries no third-party analytics, no advertising network and no social media trackers.

No location is requested. Prakruti does not ask for, read or store your device location. Maps centre on a fixed default and on whatever you navigate to yourself.

Browser storage is used only for interface preferences on your own device, such as a selected map layer. It stays in your browser and is never transmitted.

What third parties see

Map tiles are requested by your browser directly from NASA's Global Imagery Browse Services. NASA therefore receives those tile requests, including your IP address, under NASA's own privacy policy. This is the trade-off for streaming imagery rather than re-hosting petabytes of it; if you would rather not contact NASA, do not open the map pages.

All earthquake and cyclone data is fetched server-side by Prakruti's own background jobs. Your browser never contacts USGS, EMSC, GFZ or NOAA directly, and those agencies receive nothing about you.

Server logs

The web server keeps ordinary operational logs — request paths, timestamps, status codes — for debugging and abuse prevention. They are not used to build profiles and are not shared.

Administrative actions are recorded in an audit log. That applies to operators of the platform, not to visitors.
